🏁 Lando Norris Takes Pole! Dutch GP Qualifying Reaction

Qualifying for the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix is complete, and Lando Norris will start from pole position at Zandvoort!

It was an incredibly close fight at the front, with George Russell narrowly missing out on pole and championship leader Kimi Antonelli taking third.

Meanwhile, the Dutch crowd didn't get the result they were hoping for, as Max Verstappen qualified seventh for his home Grand Prix.

🟠 Norris Delivers When It Matters

What a lap from Lando Norris!

The McLaren driver produced a 1:11.163 when it mattered most, beating George Russell to pole by just 0.102 seconds.

After finishing third in the Sprint, McLaren made changes ahead of qualifying, and they appear to have worked.

Norris looked confident when the pressure was at its highest and put together the lap he needed to secure the best possible starting position for the Grand Prix.

Now comes the difficult part.

Can he turn pole into victory?

⚫ Russell Continues Impressive Weekend

George Russell will start alongside Norris from second.

After winning the Sprint earlier in the weekend, Russell continued to show just how competitive Mercedes are around Zandvoort.

He came extremely close to taking pole himself, finishing just over a tenth behind Norris.

Russell will now have a brilliant opportunity when the lights go out.

If he can get alongside Norris on the run towards Turn 1, we could have a fantastic battle for the lead.

⚫ Antonelli Starts Third

Championship leader Kimi Antonelli will start from third position.

The Mercedes driver was extremely close to teammate Russell and gives Mercedes two cars inside the top three.

That could become important strategically.

Norris might be starting on pole, but he'll have two Mercedes drivers surrounding him.

Antonelli will also want to protect his championship advantage, making the opening laps very interesting.

🟠 Piastri Completes the Top Four

Oscar Piastri qualified fourth in the second McLaren.

That gives us a fascinating first two rows:

Norris – Russell

Antonelli – Piastri

McLaren versus Mercedes.

With both teams having two cars near the front, strategy could play a massive role in deciding the Dutch Grand Prix.

🔴 Hamilton Leads Ferrari

Ferrari locked out the third row of the grid, with Lewis Hamilton qualifying fifth and Charles Leclerc sixth.

Hamilton managed to get the better of his teammate and will be hoping he can challenge the McLarens and Mercedes ahead.

Ferrari haven't quite shown the outright qualifying pace needed to fight for pole, but fifth and sixth gives them a good opportunity.

If anything happens between the leaders, Ferrari could be there to take advantage.

🇳🇱 Difficult Qualifying for Verstappen

The biggest disappointment for the home crowd was Max Verstappen qualifying seventh.

Zandvoort was packed with Dutch fans hoping to see Verstappen fighting for pole, but Red Bull simply couldn't match the pace at the front.

Seventh means Max has a lot of work ahead of him.

Overtaking around Zandvoort isn't always easy, so he'll need a strong start and potentially some clever strategy from Red Bull.

But we've seen Verstappen produce incredible comeback drives before.

Can he do it again at home?

👏 Lawson Impresses

Liam Lawson put in an impressive performance to qualify eighth.

Behind him, Gabriel Bortoleto took ninth for Audi, while Arvid Lindblad completed the top ten.

With the field so close around Zandvoort, getting into Q3 was an achievement in itself.

🎙️ The Pit Wall Verdict

Qualifying has set us up for a fascinating Dutch Grand Prix.

Lando Norris has the advantage, but George Russell is right alongside him and already knows what it takes to win at Zandvoort after his Sprint victory.

Antonelli and Piastri are waiting directly behind, giving us a fantastic Mercedes versus McLaren battle at the front.

Ferrari aren't far away either, while Max Verstappen has a huge challenge ahead of him from seventh.

For me, the biggest moment could be the run into Turn 1.

If Norris keeps the lead, he has the opportunity to control the race.

If Russell gets ahead, Mercedes could be very difficult to beat.
