🏁 Lando Norris Wins a Dramatic 2026 Dutch Grand Prix!
It was a dramatic afternoon featuring a red flag, battles at the front, Mercedes team orders and heartbreak for the thousands of Dutch fans after Max Verstappen crashed out on the opening lap.
Norris eventually took victory ahead of championship leader Kimi Antonelli, with George Russell completing the podium for Mercedes.

💥 Verstappen's Home Race Ends on Lap 1
One of the biggest stories happened almost immediately.
Max Verstappen was out of his home Grand Prix on the opening lap.
Verstappen lost control at the final corner and crashed into the barriers, bringing out the red flag.
Thankfully, Verstappen was able to get out of the car, but his Dutch Grand Prix was over.
It was a heartbreaking moment for the Orange Army.
The grandstands were packed with Dutch fans hoping to see Verstappen fight his way through from seventh on the grid, but they never got the opportunity to see what he could do.
It was certainly not the way Verstappen wanted his home race to end.
🟠 Norris Starts From Pole
At the front, Lando Norris started from pole position after a brilliant qualifying performance.
Norris got away well and initially held the lead, while Antonelli managed to move ahead of teammate Russell.
But Verstappen's accident brought everything to a stop.
When the race restarted, Norris suddenly had a serious fight on his hands.
⚫ Antonelli Attacks!
At the restart, Kimi Antonelli produced a brilliant launch.
The Mercedes driver attacked Norris into Turn 1 and took the lead of the Dutch Grand Prix.
It was a fantastic move from the championship leader and suddenly put Norris under serious pressure.
But the McLaren driver wasn't finished.
🔥 Norris Fights Back
Norris stayed close to Antonelli and eventually found his opportunity to retake the lead.
Once he was back in front, the reigning World Champion began to take control.
Norris gradually opened the gap and showed impressive pace around Zandvoort.
After 72 laps, he crossed the line 11.536 seconds ahead of Antonelli.
It was a commanding victory and another huge result for McLaren.
🏆 Back-to-Back Wins for Norris
This victory is particularly significant because Norris also won the previous race in Hungary.
That means back-to-back Grand Prix victories for Lando Norris.
McLaren appear to be building momentum, and Norris is showing why he's one of the biggest names on the Formula 1 grid.
Pole position followed by victory is exactly the type of weekend McLaren needed.
⚫ Antonelli Strengthens His Championship Lead
Antonelli couldn't quite match Norris in the end, but second place is still a fantastic result.
More importantly, it's another big result for his championship campaign.
The Mercedes driver continues to lead the standings and has strengthened his advantage over his rivals.
With the second half of the season underway, the big question is becoming:
Who can stop Kimi Antonelli?
🥉 Russell Completes the Podium
George Russell finished third, completing a double podium for Mercedes.
Russell had already enjoyed success at Zandvoort after winning the Sprint, and another podium makes this a strong weekend for him.
There was also some Mercedes team-order drama during the Grand Prix, with Russell allowing Antonelli through.
Towards the end, Russell then had to defend his podium position from Lewis Hamilton.
And he managed to hold on.
🔴 Hamilton Just Misses Out
Lewis Hamilton finished fourth for Ferrari, less than a second behind Russell.
Hamilton pushed hard during the closing stages but couldn't find a way past the Mercedes.
It's another solid points finish for Ferrari, although they'll probably be disappointed not to have taken a podium.
Charles Leclerc followed his teammate home in fifth, giving Ferrari two cars inside the top five.
🟠 Piastri Takes Sixth
While Norris celebrated victory, Oscar Piastri finished sixth in the second McLaren.
It wasn't quite the result Piastri would have wanted, but he still brought home useful points for the team.
McLaren will leave Zandvoort delighted with Norris' victory and another strong weekend for the team.
👏 Lawson Scores for Red Bull
With Verstappen out on Lap 1, Liam Lawson was left to score points for Red Bull.
Lawson brought the car home in seventh position.
It wasn't the weekend Red Bull wanted, but Lawson's result at least gave the team something positive to take away from Zandvoort.

👋 An Emotional Goodbye to Zandvoort
This race also marked the final Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort for the foreseeable future.
Since returning to the Formula 1 calendar in 2021, Zandvoort has become known for its incredible atmosphere.
The sea of orange in the grandstands, the banked corners and the passionate Dutch fans have made this one of the most distinctive weekends on the calendar.
Unfortunately, Verstappen wasn't able to give his home crowd the farewell they wanted.
But Zandvoort has still given Formula 1 fans plenty of unforgettable moments over the years.
Hopefully, this isn't goodbye forever.
🎙️ The Pit Wall Verdict
For Lando Norris, this was a fantastic weekend.
He delivered in qualifying, started from pole and then fought back after losing the lead to Antonelli at the restart.
Once Norris returned to the front, he never looked back.
Antonelli also deserves plenty of credit. Second place keeps his championship campaign moving in the right direction, while Russell completed an excellent weekend for Mercedes.
But for Max Verstappen and the Dutch fans, this was a Grand Prix to forget.
His race was over almost before it had begun.
