🏁 Dutch Grand Prix Free Practice

Formula 1 is back at Zandvoort for the Dutch Grand Prix, and the action is already underway.

With the cars hitting the circuit for practice, we got our first look at which teams could be strong this weekend. Zandvoort is one of the most exciting circuits on the calendar, with its fast corners, banked sections and very little room for mistakes.

Mercedes Start Strong

Mercedes made an impressive start to the weekend, with Kimi Antonelli setting the fastest time of the practice session.

Antonelli looked comfortable around Zandvoort and showed strong pace ahead of the competitive sessions.

George Russell was also near the front, making it an encouraging start for Mercedes.

McLaren Are Right There

Lando Norris was also looking quick.

The McLaren driver finished close to Antonelli and showed that McLaren could be serious contenders as the weekend continues.

Oscar Piastri was slightly further back, but McLaren certainly look like a team to watch.

Ferrari Join the Fight

Ferrari also showed promising pace.

Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc both finished near the front of the field, suggesting Ferrari could challenge Mercedes and McLaren.

The big question will be whether Ferrari can turn that practice pace into results when it really matters.

🇳🇱 A Difficult Start for Verstappen

One of the biggest surprises was Max Verstappen.

Racing in front of his home Dutch fans, Verstappen didn't have the start to the weekend he would have wanted.

The Red Bull appeared difficult to handle at times, leaving the team with work to do before the competitive sessions begin.

But we've seen Verstappen turn difficult weekends around before, so nobody should count him out yet.

👀 What Happens Next?

Practice has given us our first clues, but there's still plenty we don't know.

Mercedes look strong, McLaren are close, Ferrari are in the conversation and Red Bull will be looking for improvements.

With the margins between the leading teams looking incredibly small, we could be heading towards a brilliant fight at Zandvoort.
